A FOOTBALL stadium is to host an evening event to celebrate work done to improve life in the local community.
The Derwent Valley Partnership has organised the event at Belle View Stadium in Consett to showcase a range of projects designed to help children and young people, improve community health and wellbeing, support older people and offer help back to work.
The event will also celebrate the achievements of local volunteers who have given up their time to help the community be a cleaner and greener place to live.
During the event on Wednesday, June 24, which starts at 5.30pm, there will also be entertainment from React! Youth Theatre, Jack Drum Arts and the Sambarama! Project.
Corinne Walton, AAP coordinator, said: “We would encourage residents to come along to the celebration event to help us explore project ideas to improve the area and quality of life for our communities.
“We are also keen to recognise and acknowledge the good work done by some of our local volunteers”.
