A GOAT from a North-East farm attraction has become a celebrity overnight following her starring role in a trailer for an upcoming video game.

The goat - known as Precious - from Hall Hill Farm near Lanchester, County Durham held the lead role in the trailer for Goat Simulator, a video game that will be launching on Xbox this April.

With 60,000 views on YouTube on the first day of release, Precious has been viewed by as many people online in one day as visit the farm attraction on an annual basis.

The 30-second trailer took the internet by storm as other YouTubers began sharing it over the weekend. Since going live on Friday (March 13), it has received more than 200,000 views worldwide.

Precious was filmed by Middlesbrough-based video games developer and publisher Double Eleven for a new trailer to promote the game.

It was a collaborative effort along with Erimus Productions and Orchestral Media Developments, all local talent with firm roots in the North-East.

Richard Darlington, a farmer at Hall Hill Farm, said: “It has been a lot of fun.

“It’s not every day that we get a request to film one of our animals, but it is great that she is being viewed all over the world. We are not letting it go to her head though,

“The company were searching for a particular look in an animal and our goat had it. Filming just took a few hours and Precious was a natural, posing for photographs and was very interested in the games console itself.”

In Goat Simulator, the player explores their terrain as a goat and is able to cause mass destruction and mayhem, lick objects and perform a range of stunts including bouncing off trampolines, putting on a jetpack or hopping on a skateboard to get around.
