A FURTHER review into the deaths of two North-East teenage girls who died less than a week apart has been set.

Sitting at Crook Coroners Court this morning (February 23), assistant coroner, Crispen Oliver, said he was reviewing the deaths of Danielle Fermosa and Sarah Clerkson, both 14, together because of the unusual circumstances surrounding their deaths in December.

Miss Fermosa died at East Farmhouse Children’s Home, in Consett, on December 17, 2013.

She was a Facebook friend of 14-year-old Sarah Clerkson, also from Sunderland, who was found hanged at a house party in Spennymoor days earlier.

He said: "Because of the unusual circumstances of the deaths I'm reviewing them together.

"I simply recall that the facts of the deaths of each of the deceased girls is particularly tragic."

Coroners officer, Jaqueline Sirrell, confirmed the last review had been held on January 12 and that the court had received the serious case reviews for both cases from Sunderland Safeguarding Children's Board.

However the reports have not yet been seen by the family so Mr Oliver ordered a further review on April 27 to allow them time to see them.
