A BUDGET retailer is creating more than 100 jobs at two new North-East stores.
B&M, which describes itself as a variety retailer and sells toys, homeware, electrical and seasonal goods, is opening new branches at Durham City Retail Park and Delves Lane, Consett.
The Consett store will create 85 jobs at the former Tesco site and the Durham store, with 30 jobs, is in the former PC World premises.
Both will open this month.
Durham store manager Mark Pedalty said: “B&M is committed to recruiting from the local area and I’m delighted we’ve found a great team from in and around Durham.
“We’re really proud to be creating jobs this year and continuing to play our part in the local community.
“We’re excited to get the doors open and have a team of colleagues who are willing to provide great value products and world class service to our customers.”
