A RUGBY benefit match is to take place in memory of a young man who died in a tragic accident.

Jordon Graham was 21 when he fell to his death from the roof of a three-story building in Blackhill, Consett, County Durham, in July last year.

Relatives and friends are raising money for Mr Graham’s young son Toby and holding a rugby game at Durham City Rugby Club, Green Lane, Durham, on Sunday (August 17). Entry is free and the gates open at noon.

There will be raffles, auctions and refreshments, with proceeds going into a trust fund for young Toby.

Organisers hope to raise £2,000.

Mr Graham was a keen rugby player. He broke 17 bones in eight years playing the game and was forced to retire due to a bad back aged 18.

Sunday’s match will feature players from the Durham City, Consett and Blaydon clubs, all of whom Mr Graham played for.
