A PET store, which recently opened in north Durham, is hoping to make a difference to the lives of German Shepherd dogs.
Pets at Home store in Consett has announced Shepherd Support UK is its chosen charity partner.
Following an appeal to the community to nominate animal charities from the area, colleagues at the Hermiston Retail Park store are gearing up to work with the organistion in finding adoptive home for the dogs.
Pets at Home store manager, Peter Stonehouse, said: “I’m sure our caring customers will be right behind us and help our team raise plenty of money for what is a very worthy cause.”
Karen Blake, from Shepherd Support UK, said: “This will help us make a difference to the lives of unwanted and neglected German Shepherds, as well as carry out training and education in the local community.”
The store is also looking for an additional animal charity to provide as many abandoned animals as possible with a chance to be re-homed into new, loving environments.
Anyone interested should contact Pets at Home via email on supportadoptionforpets@petsathome.com stating ‘Consett’ in the subject box, or alternatively through Support Adoption For Pets charity manager, Amy Wilson, on 0161-486-3774.
