An accident partially blocked the A1(M) southbound near Washington on Wednesday morning
AN accident on the A1(M) near Washington caused delays for rush hour motorists on Wednesday morning.
The southbound carriageway was partially blocked between J65 A194(M) / A1 / A1231 / B1288 Birtley and J64 A195 (Washington) and congestion was being reported to Chowdene Bank / Kingsway South (Coalhouse Roundabout).
The accident has now been cleared and traffic has returned to normal.
