AUDIENCES will be looking on the bright side of life when a Monty Python-inspired show gallops into town.

The manic musical Spamalot is being staged in Chester-le-Street later this month by Dryburn Theatrical Workshop.

Loosely based on the classic comedy Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Spamalot tells the tale of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, complete with showgirls, witch burnings and killer rabbits.

Lee Passmoor, Chairman of Dryburn Theatrical Workshop, said, “This is a hugely funny and entertaining show which our cast of all ages have loved rehearsing.

“It’s a fast-moving and challenging production, bursting with songs and slapstick which also takes a clever but gentle swipe at musical theatre.”

The show runs from Wednesday, June 14 to Saturday, June 17 at 7.15pm at Park View Theatre, in Chester-le-Street.

Opening night tickets are £8 and for the rest of the week are £10 for adults and £8 for concessions, available from 0191-3883362, 07468-607420 or dryburntheatricalworkshop.ticketsource.co.uk
