FOUR-LEGGED friends are invited to take part in an annual sponsored dog walk to raise funds for a hospice.
The Paws for a Cause walk, which raises money for St Cuthbert’s Hospice in Durham, will take place on Sunday, March 5.
The walk will take place around Riverside Park, in Chester-le-Street with two routes available, either one-and-a-half or three miles.
Each dog will receive a doggy goody bag, rosette and certificate on completion.
Sheela Bell, from St Cuthbert’s Hospice said “We’re so pleased to be bringing Paws for a Cause back this year.
“The event is always lots of fun for everyone involved.
“We are really proud that as a hospice we are pet friendly and patients are able to bring their pets in for visits.
“We understand how important animals can be, to many people they are a member of the family.
“It’s great to be able to put together an event that four-legged friends can take part in too.”
There will also be a fun Dog Show with prizes for Happiest Dog, Best Fancy Dress Dog, Prettiest Pooch and Handsome Hound.
Registration for the walk is £10 per dog, while humans go free. Entry to the Dog Show is £1 per category.
