MEMBERS of a project for people with learning disabilities beat the boys in blue in a football challenge.
Users of the Pelton-based Goals project took on the local police in a game on Chester-le-Street FC’s multi-use all weather pitch, winning the match 10-6.
The match was organised by PCSO Simon Walters, who said: “I’ve been going to the Goals sessions at Pelton quite a bit and they always go on about football.
“We play football at work as well and I said can we come along and they were more than happy for us to come along and have a game with them”.
Goals Support Worker, Adrian Geary said: “All the service users have really enjoyed the game.
“They have been training hard for some time now and it’s been a real joy to watch them display their football skills”.
