TICKETS have gone on sale for an outdoor show by Canadian superstar Bryan Adams.

The Summer of 69 star is to play at Durham County Cricket Club’s Emirates Riverside ground in Chester-le-Street on Friday, August 12.

The singer became a global star after the release of his 1984 hit album Reckless, featuring hits including Run To You, and went on to top the UK singles charts for a record-breaking 16 weeks with the Robin Hood theme Everything I Do, I Do It For You.

The singer announced the Chester-le-Street date as part of his current European tour Get Up.

In a statement announcing the gig, Bryan Adams said: “We have seen such a great response from fans all over the UK that we wanted to reach as many places as possible, which is why I am delighted to now announce the Durham concert.

“We’ll be rocking the stage with songs from the new album, which I think are some of my finest yet, and of course there’ll be some of the old favourites, too.”

Adams is the latest headline act to perform at the cricket ground following an appearance by Simply Red in June and previous shows by the likes of Madness, Elton John, Tom Jones, Jessie J, and Boyzone.

David Harker, Group Chief Executive of Durham County Cricket Club added: “Bryan Adams is a huge star who gives a brilliant performance and we are certain he will be a big hit here this summer."

Tickets for the show have gone on sale at www.ticketmaster.co.uk, www.sky.com/tickets and www.durhamccc.co.uk priced from £39 to £65, plus booking fee although early bird discounts are available.
