THOUSANDS of music fans are expected to attend when an annual outdoor music festival returns this summer.

The popular Chester-le-Street Fake Festival will take place on Saturday, August 6 at Riverside Park.

The all-day festival features three of the country’s best tribute acts, supported by five local bands who will share the same stage.

Organisers say this year’s tribute acts will be dedicated to the music of Queen, the Arctic Monkeys and Stereophonics.

Promoter Bec Evans said: “Now firmly established as Durham’s biggest tribute event after selling out three years in a row, Chester-le-Street Fake Festival has undoubtedly earned it reputation as the local summer party not to be missed.

“As I live in Chester-le-Street, the event is very close to my heart, so it’s pretty overwhelming to witness its increasing popularity every year as more and more people hear about the fun to be had as a Fake Festival.

“Back with a blockbuster line-up that has something for everyone, and supported by five very talented local bands, this year’s event could well be the biggest yet.”

Discounted early bird tickets are on sale until July 6 from the Fake Festivals www.fakefestivals.co.uk priced £17 for adults, £9 for young people aged ten to 17 and free for the under tens.
