DETECTIVES are hunting two masked man who broke into a house, stabbed a 21-year-old man and stole his BMW car.
The victim was in bed with his partner, a 21-year-old woman, when the burglars struck in the middle of the night.
They broke into the house, in Abington, Ouston, near Chester-le-Street, County Durham, at about 2.30am on Wednesday.
After attacking the victim the assailants stole keys to his BMW car and escaped in the vehicle.
The victim was treated for stab injuries at the RVI in Newcastle. He has now been discharged from hospital.
Detective Constable Lindsay Guest said: “Incidents of this nature are extremely rare and we do not believe those involved pose a risk to the wider community.”
