THE family of a tragic teenager returned to the hospital where she was treated to deliver Christmas presents to young patients.

Jessica Robson, from Cramlington, Northumberland, was diagnosed with cancer in 2010 and died in May 2014, aged 18, having spent long periods at the Great North Children’s Hospital in Newcastle.

Her charity, Jessica’s Sarcoma Awareness, has raised £100,000 and for the second Christmas some of the money was spent on 100 presents for young hospital patients.

Among those to benefit was Isaac Dawson, five, from Burnopfield, and ten-month-old Chloe Guy, from Chester-le-Street.

Jessica’s sister Nicole Robson said: “It’s tough coming back but it’s nice to see all the smiling faces when we give the presents.

“It’s something for Jess – that’s what gives you the drive.”

Her mother Julie added: “Jess was quite shy and preferred to be in the background, but she’d be absolutely thrilled about the charity and so proud of her sister who’s the real driving force behind it.

“This time of year was especially difficult. It’s tough all the time but Christmas is particularly hard because she loved it so much.”
