DETAILS have been announced of a parade to remember soldiers who lost their lives fighting for their country in both world wars and other conflicts.
A parade will take place in Chester-le-Street to the town’s war memorial on Remembrance Sunday (Nov 8).
The parade will assemble at the entrance to Park View Community School on Church Chare and set off at 10.30am, continuing to High Chare and Front Street and arriving in the Market Place for the 10.45am service in front of the town’s war memorial.
The 30-minute service, conducted by the Reverend David Tully, will include a two-minute silence at 11am.
The Scout Band will lead the parade, followed by various local uniformed organisations, who will lay wreaths and members of the public are invited to follow the route and gather at the Market Place to pay tribute.
