A CHILDREN'S charity is appealing for more people to walk over hot coals or broken glass to raise much-needed funds.
Heel and Toe provides therapy for children with cerebral palsy or other physical disabilities in County Durham.
The charity has organised a fire walk and ice walk at its centre, at Pelton, near Chester le Street, on Saturday, October 17 and needs a few more people to get sponsored to raise funds.
The fire walk consists of red hot embers and organisers say that the people who walk over them have such a great experience than they tend to go back and do it several more times.
The ice walk is made up of hundreds of pieces of razor sharp broken glass bottles, not softened or treated in any way.
In-depth training sessions are given before participants are invited to remove footwear and walk, one by one, to the end.
Registration is £35 per person. For details and to register, call Amanda Tweedy on 0191 3868606 or email Amanda@heelandtoe.org.uk
