A MUSIC festival featuring the best tribute acts on the circuit is to return to a North-East park for the third year running.
The Fake Festival, featuring tributes to The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters and Blondie, will take place in Riverside Park, Chester-le-Street, on Saturday, August 8.
Last year, about 1,800 fans enjoyed an 11-hour touring show which features some of Britain’s best tribute bands and local support acts.
As well as Chester-le-Street, the Fake Festivals tour will this year include dates in South Shields, Tynemouth and Whickham as well as a three-night Big Fake Festival in Nottinghamshire featuring 20 acts.
Local organiser Bec Evans said: “We were completely overwhelmed last year as the festival sold out a full four weeks before the day itself.
“We have four events here in the North-East this year and they are increasing in popularity year on year as word is spreading about the fun to be had at a Fake Festivals.
“Early sales are ahead of last year’s and we’re incredibly excited about our show in 2015”.
Tickets are on sale now priced £17 for adults, £8.50 for young people aged ten to 17 and free for younger children.
Anyone buying a ticket for the Chester-le-Street show will be eligible for free entry and camping at the three-day Big Fake Festival in September.
