A GROUP of artists will launch an exhibition in north Durham later this month.

WillyNillie’s ‘You are Here’ show is coming to Chester-le-Street town centre on May 30.

The group is placing art work in shop windows and spaces on the Front Street.

Spokesman Sharon Gollan said: “Since September 2014, artists from WillyNillie have worked with groups and local people to create art based on the theme of identity and a sense of belonging.

“Groups include If U Care Share, a local charity who support people affected by suicide, Changing Lives, supporting men affected by homelessness and addiction, chronic pain group MyPain Fibro, homeless charity SHAID and the YMCA.”

The project has been funded by Arts Council England and Chester-le-Street’s Area Action Partnership.

The work has been part of a touring exhibition travelling around venues in the North-East including The Biscuit Tin in Newcastle, Durham University’s Stockton Campus and Collingwood College.

The exhibition runs until June 22.
