A SINGER is returning to his former school in Chester-le-Street to perform a concert.

Antonio Lulic will take to the stage at the town’s Park View School on Friday, April 10, at 7pm as part of a national tour.

Mr Lulic, the son of a South American political exile who grew up in Great Lumley, is a folk-rock singer-songwriter with a growing reputation.

He will be touring to promote his new EP, Son, and at the end of the tour will join the hotmaker Ed Sheeran to support him on his tour of South America.

After attending Park View School he went to Leeds University to study English and Creative Writing.

He later moved to London to follow his dream of becoming an performer and has since toured relentlessly, building a loyal fanbase around the world.

He has returned to the school before to talk to current pupils and encourage budding young performers.

Iain Veitch, the headteacher of Park View School, said: “We are honoured Antonio decided to include Chester-le-Street in his UK tour.

“It’s a privilege to have him back on home soil and in our school setting.”

Park View pupils Katie Smith and Jack Mylchreest will support him at the concert.
