STAFF and volunteers at a Chester-le-Street charity shop are urging supporters to donate furniture to help raise vital funds for the UK’s leading veterinary charity, PDSA.

Supporters with good quality furniture, including three-piece suites, desks and chairs should contact the shop to arrange a free collection.

For health and safety reasons, PDSA can only accept furniture that has the fire-warning label relating to the 1988 regulations.

Shop manager, Phil Clark said: “If anyone has recently redecorated, had a clear out or moved house and has unwanted furniture taking up valuable space, then we would urge them to donate their items to PDSA.

“White goods such as fridge/freezers, washers, cookers, as well as small items such as dressers, tables and chairs, are very popular with our customers who are looking to furnish their homes at bargain prices.

“All donations will help us raise valuable funds to care for the sick and injured pets of local people in need.”

Located at Front Street, Chester-le-Street PDSA shop raises funds to provide PDSA-funded veterinary treatment in the local area.

Donations can also be taken to the shop which is open from 9am to 5pm from Monday to Saturday.

Anyone who can help should contact Mr Clark on 0191 3881676.

PDSA encourages all supporters to sign up for Gift Aid, to help their donations go even further. For more information visit www.pdsa.org.uk
