A TEENAGER has been offered a university place at Oxford.
Phoebe Bradley, from Sacriston, County Durham, has been offered a place at Brasenose College to read English Language and Literature – conditional on her achieving three As in her A-levels this summer.
The 18-year-old Durham Federation pupil, who is currently studying English Language, English Literature and History, said: “I’ve always thought about applying for Oxbridge and in the last couple of years I started to think: ‘Maybe I could’.”
Miss Bradley travelled south for an interview in December and received her conditional offer in January.
“It was really interesting. I really enjoyed it. I came away thinking even if I didn’t get the place I’d enjoyed the experience.”
She is now studying hard to get the grades required and looking forward to starting her university studies this autumn.
“I can’t wait. I absolutely love it down there. It’s so beautiful.
“My school has been absolutely brilliant. I couldn’t have asked for more help. The teachers have helped me with everything they possibly could.”
The teenager is as yet unsure what career she will pursue.
