PEOPLE in Chester-le-Street and Stanley have the chance to meet Police and Crime Commissioner Ron Hogg this weekend.

The former senior police officer, who is the first commissioner in the County Durham force area, wants to hear the views or local people.

He will be attending surgeries held by North Durham MP Kevan Jones on Saturday (April 5).

People will be able to raise issues they have relating to crime and policing.

Mr Hogg said: “I have been elected to be the voice of the public and I am keen to meet and listen to as many people as possible. “By attending these surgeries, members of the public will be able to raise any local policing concerns they have with me. “I’m looking forward to Saturday and urge residents to come along and have a chat.”

The surgeries will be held at St Mary’s and St. Cuthbert’s Parish Centre, Church Chare, Chester-le-Street, between 9.30 and 11am, in The Library, Plawsworth Road, Sacriston, from 11.30 am to noon, and in The Tommy Armstrong Centre, Clifford Road, Stanley, between 12.30 and 2pm.
