A SEASONAL bus service to one of the region’s most popular attractions has resumed.

Go North East’s half-hourly Waggonway services (numbers 28 and 28A) will call at Beamish Museum on their journeys between Newcastle and Chester-le-Street each day of the week. A Saturday-only special hourly service, 128, from Durham City to the museum has also started.

Go North East marketing and sales manager Stephen King said: “Up to five people can travel all day with our Family Day Ticket for only £11.50 and you then save 25 per cent on your individual admission to Beamish Museum when you show your bus ticket.”

Museum spokeswoman Jacki Winstanley said: “Getting to Beamish on public transport has never been easier with Go North East bus services 28 and 128.

“The services run into the museum and stop right outside the entrance. It’s a great, hassle-free way to get here. The Waggonway bus is instantly recognisable and has become something of an icon on its route from Newcastle and Gateshead to Beamish.”
