DIGESTS: News in brief from South Durham
ST Mary's Church in Sherburn Village is having its patronal festival weekend on September 8-9. The church is hosting an open day on Saturday, from 9.30am to 4pm, which includes a coffee morning until 1pm, cake and gift stalls and floral displays. On Sunday, the patronal festival service takes place at 10.45am, when the congregations of St Giles Church, Durham and St Cuthbert's, Shadforth, will also attend.
