A YOUNG girl has had nine inches cut off her hair for a second time to donate to children undergoing treatment for cancer.

Eleven-year-old Alice Carter had her hair cut on Saturday to donate to the Little Princess Trust, which provide wigs to children who have lost their hair.

She is also aiming to raise £500, the amount it costs them to fund a wig, and has taken leaflets to most of the shops and businesses in Langley Park.

She did the same thing three years ago when she donated her hair and raised over £400 for the charity.

Alice has been waiting for her hair to be long enough to donate again ever since.

The trust relies solely on the efforts of community fundraisers, like Alice, as it receives no formal funding for its work.

She said: “The Little Princess Trust makes wigs for children who have lost their hair due to an illness.

“I have been growing my hair for the last three years so that I can donate it again.

“It costs about £500 to make a wig so that is how much money I want to raise.”

She has so far raised another £400.
