A RANGE of free family fun activities are being held in Chester-le-Street next week.

The activity week, co-ordinated by Durham Constabulary, is now in its 12th year and promises plenty for all ages.

There will be an inflatable maze, gladiator joust, assault course, bouncy castles, human demolition ball and bungee run, as well as a caricature artist, badge-making and glitter tattoos.

Plenty of community organisations will also be turning out to support the festivities with demonstrations such as first aid.

There will be also be some special guest appearances from the Police Interceptors and force’s motorcycle unit, along with police dogs Jet and Ben.

DJ Kenny from Metro Radio will be joining in the fun midweek and playing all the latest feel-good tunes and trivia quizzes with prizes to be won.

PCSO Adrian Richards, one of the event organisers, said: “We have a great selection of attractions and they are all free. There really is something for everyone. We are grateful to all of the organisations which play a part in making our activity week happen.

“It’s something the local community should feel very proud of. Come on down and join in the fun.”

The activities will be held in the Market Place from Monday to Friday between 10am and 3pm.
