A HAIRDRESSER has been shortlisted for two national industry awards.
Janet Maitland Hair Excellence in Durham is a finalist in two categories at HJ’s British Hairdressing Business Awards 2018.
Ms Maitland was shortlisted in the business director of the year category while the salon was shortlisted in the training award category, for its programme which is led by Sandra Snowdon.
Ms Maitland said: “I have been passionate about hairdressing since I can remember and winning this title would mean everything to me.”
She has three hair salons in Gilesgate, Bowburn and Hetton-le-Hole and is also a UK ambassador for Shaping Futures, an initiative by Schwarzkopf Professional to teach disadvantaged young people hairdressing skills.
