ST Margaret’s Allotments, in Margery Lane, Durham, are holding their annual open day as part of the National Gardens Scheme on Sunday, July 8.

Visitors will be able to walk around the site, which has over 100 plots, and talk to the gardeners. There will also be a guided tour of the site and music by Northumbrian pipers. There will be a scarecrow competition, with visitors able to vote for their favourite. Tea and cakes will be served in the nearby St Margaret's Centre.
