BOWLS: View Lane Bowls Club is looking for new members
A BOWLS club is offering people free membership for a year to take up the sport.
View Lane Bowls Club, at East Stanley, is holding its annual general meeting in the clubhouse, opposite Beamish and East Stanley Sports Club, on Thursday, March 29, at 2pm, and anyone interested is invited to attend.
Spokesman Jim Murray said: “Whether experienced or a complete novice you will be welcome to come and give it a try.
“All you need is a pair of flat shoes or trainers, if you have bowls bring them along, if not you will be able to borrow some at the club.
“Present members will be on hand to give any help or advice that may be needed.”
The bowling green opens on Saturday, April 14.
