POLICE are looking for up to five men who allegedly stole a quantity of food and baby products.

The same men had earlier entered a pizza shop and paid for their food with fake £20 notes, police said.

A Durham Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called to reports of a theft at the Spar shop.

"The incident happened at the Spar at Blue House Buildings, High Street, Carrville at 6.30pm on Sunday February 4.

"It is understood that up to five men entered the store and filled baskets with food and baby products before making off. A customer in the store tried to stop them at the time."

"The suspects made off in a red car in the direction of the A690."

The spokesperson added: "Five suspects entered Belmont Pizza in Carrville at about 6.05pm, ordered food and handed over fake £20 notes before making off with change. The shop lost about £80." 

Anyone who recognises the men in these images is urged to contact the police, who would like to speak to them in connection with the incident.
