A FAMILY has taken delivery of real snow from a clothing retailer after winning the white stuff at one of its stores.

TK Maxx transformed the family home in South Hetton, east Durham, into a winter wonderland for 48 hours.

Caroline Laundon of South Hetton, east Durham, stumbled upon one of the retailer’s exclusive White Christmas snow globes hidden in TK Maxx Manchester two weeks ago.

Having found the two-foot globe, as depicted in TK Maxx’s Christmas TV advert, she received a special visit from a team of TK Maxx snow experts.

They transformed her home with equipment usually used in the film industry – along with eight cubic metres of real snow, for snowball fights, snowmen and a “suitably jolly Christmas experience”.

Ms Laundon said: “We’ve never had this much snow.

“Everybody in the village knew we were getting our White Christmas, so we had quite a few people asking to come round. It’s just good fun, a good laugh and we’ve had a great time.”

Deborah Dolce, of TK Maxx said: “We wanted to create a real, magical experience for our shoppers this year.”
