TRAINS between Newcastle and Durham were delayed this evening after a passenger was taken ill.
Virgin Trains tweeted that: "Due to a passenger being taken ill on a train between Newcastle and Durham some lines are blocked."

The incident happened on the 5.03pm TransPennine Express service between Newcastle and Leeds.
An ambulance was called to the service while it was at Chester-le-Street to treat a passenger.
A spokesman for Virgin East Coast said the incident had been resolved by 6pm and affected services were back to normal.
