NEW hybrid buses with free wifi have hit the road as part of a £1.6million investment.
Go North East has introduced ten new buses on its routes between Durham, Stanley and Consett.
The Wright Streetlite micro hybrid buses are said to be more environmentally friendly and have free wifi, USB connections and next stop announcements.
They are being used on the Durham Diamond 16 and 16A services.
Go North East managing director Kevin Carr said: “Our customers tell us that they appreciate having free wifi, next stop announcements, comfy seats and being able to charge their phone on the bus so we have invested in new vehicles to give them this.”
