FIREFIGHTERS have rescued a dog trapped on a ledge at a beauty spot.
A spokesman for the Darlington and County Durham Fire and Rescue Service said the control room took a call from the owner of the dog, whose pet had got stuck on a ledge at Wingate Nature Reserve, in east Durham, at about 1.20pm today.
The service deployed a crew from the Seaham Fire Station and a crew from Peterlee to the incident.
The spokesman added: "The crew used working at height equipment to reach the dog called Kayo, who was rescued safely and returned to his owner. The incident was over shortly after 3pm."
