A NORTH-East school has been selected to host a BBC topical radio show.
Political broadcaster Jonathan Dimbleby will be heading to Durham to host Any Questions? on Friday, February 10.
Framwellgate School Durham will be hosting a panel of politicians and public figures, who will be answering the public’s questions on topical issues.
Confirmed panellists include Anne-Marie Trevelyan, the Conservative MP for Berwick and Rachel Reeves, Labour MP for Leeds West.
Wendy Pattison, the school’s business director, said: “It’s massive for us. It’s rare for them to choose a secondary school and for us to get it is a real buzz.
“It’s particularly exciting for our sixth formers who are studying government and politics. On the night they will be running around helping with collecting people’s questions and will be able to watch it all happening.
“It’s putting us right at the heart of the community for the night.”
The Radio Four programme will be broadcast live from the school's main hall at 7.15pm.
A limited number of tickets are available for free from the school. People can apply for up to two tickets by emailing enquiries@fram.durham.sch.uk.
Any Questions was first aired in 1948 and has been hosted by Jonathan Dimbleby since 1987.
