Search continues after River Tyne body report
SEARCHES have continued after reports of a body in the River Tyne in Newcastle on Monday.
Officers have continued to search the areas around Newcastle Quayside on Wednesday afternoon.
"Specialist police divers have carried out extensive underwater and water based open area searches," said a spokeswoman for Northumbria Police.
"At this time, no one has been found and police continue to appeal for information from the public.
"Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed anything in the area on Monday or have a description of anyone who they believe could have gone into the water."
