A NORTH-EAST events firm is extending its offering after enjoying a ‘sell-out summer’.

1879 Events Management, which manages three venues in Sunderland, is celebrating a record summer season, catering for capacity crowds at many of its in-house events as well as hundreds more at external gatherings across the region.

This includes tapas-themed evenings at The Beach House bistro, Roker, Sounds of the Summer events with food and music at National Glass Centre, Sunderland – both of which sold out – and the start of a new season providing hospitality at the Stadium of Light, home of Sunderland AFC.

In the last few months 1879 Events Management, which launched in 2012, has also managed its first offsite wedding and catered for tens of thousands of music fans at the LGBT festival, Newcastle Pride, for the third consecutive year.

Now, in an effort to continue its success, the organisation has announced a number of new events running into the autumn, starting with Bourbon and Blues at Sunderland’s National Glass Centre on Friday, September 25.

This will be followed by further events at both the bistro and Stadium of Light and Gary Hutchinson, commercial director at 1879 Events Management, said: “It’s been a hugely successful summer for the company, allowing us to expand our creativity and experiment with new ideas for our in-house events.”
