A MOTORCYCLIST has been seriously injured in a road smash.
A 50-year-old man from Bearpark, near Durham had to be airlifted to James Cook University Hospital after the Honda bike he was riding collided with a car on Friday night (July 24).
The crash happened near the New Inn pub on the A177 in Durham City at about 5.10pm.
The biker’s condition was today (Monday, July 27) described as critical but stable.
The driver of the car, a Vauxhall Astra, a 28-year-old woman from Bishop Auckland, was not injured.
Durham Police are appealing to anyone who saw the crash or either of the vehicles in the moments beforehand to call them on 101.
