BRITAIN'S number one trampolinist bounced into Durham today (Monday, March 30) to launch the UK’s biggest Jumping Pillow.

Former Olympian and Guinness world-record holder Kat Driscoll of Houghton-le-Spring, on Wearside was at Adventure Valley, Brasside, near Durham City, to unveil the attraction.

The Jumping Pillow at Adventure Valley is a giant inflated cushion of air, the size of 14 Olympic trampolines.

Adventure Valley owner Marco Calzini said: “Of over 40 attractions we have here, a survey last year showed our Jumping Pillow was one of the favourites.

“This new Jumping Pillow is over 50 per cent bigger - the largest in the UK - which means lots more families will be able to have fun bouncing together.”

Kat was joined today by some of the young trampolinists from the Apollo Trampoline Club, where she trains.

She said: “I’m delighted to be here to officially open the UK’s biggest Jumping Pillow.

“It’s tremendous fun and anything that introduces children to the simple joy of bouncing is a good thing.

“Who knows we could be seeing a future British Olympic trampoline champion take their first bounces here.

“It’s also a lot more forgiving than the trampolines I’m used to, at least you can’t fall off the Jumping Pillow.”
