THE CAST of Dirty Dancing has arrived in the North-East to thrill audiences with a combination of heart-pounding music, passionate romance and sensationally sexy dancing.

The show seen by millions across the globe has returned to Sunderland’s Empire Theatre, where it will be staged until Saturday, February 14.

The smash-hit tells the classic story of Baby Houseman and Johnny Castle - two fiercely independent young spirits from different worlds, who come together in what will be the most challenging and triumphant summer of their lives.

Produced by Karl Sydow and Joye Entertainment, in association with Lionsgate and Magic Hour Productions, and written by Eleanor Bergstein, the production features all the much-loved characters and original dialogue from the iconic film with extra scenes added in.

The tantalising dance sequences and new choreography are set to all the hits from the soundtrack, including Do You Love Me?, Hungry Eyes (I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life.

Gareth Bailey stars as Johnny Castle, while Roseanna Frascona will be carrying the watermelon as idealistic Baby Houseman, while Claire Rogers plays Penny Johnson.

Dirty Dancing –The Classic Story On Stage opened at the Aldwych Theatre in 2006 with a record-breaking advance of £15 million, making it the fastest ever selling show in West End theatre history.

The production became the longest running show in the history of the famous Aldwych Theatre and played to over 2 million people during its triumphant five-year run.

Tickets available in person from £10 at the Box Office or from £12.90 when calling 0844-871-3022 or booking online at www.ATGtickets.com/Sunderland plus a transaction fee applies. Premium seats also available.
