FREE advice on renewable energy is on offer to villagers in rural North Yorkshire next month.
People living in the Hambleton area of the North York Moors and the Howardian Hills are being urged to attend a training course aimed at increasing knowledge and understanding of how renewable technologies work and how to get the most from them.
It is part of a sustainable community project between Hambleton District Council and the Yorkshire Energy Partnership.
"With fuel costs at an all time high and the Government's focus on green energy, more people are considering renewable technologies as a sustainable way of meeting their energy needs," said Rosie Hughes, the Sustainable Communities Co-ordinator for the North York Moors.
"This free training course aims to give residents advice about how renewable energy systems work, the benefits and disadvantages of each technology and the main factors that need to be taken into account before installing."
The course takes place at the Civic Centre in Northallerton on March 2 from 10am until 4pm.
For more information or to register contact Rosie Hughes on (01904) 554408 or rosie.hughes@energypartnership.org.uk. Places are limited and must be booked in advance.
