THEATRE fans keen to see one of Britain’s best loved writers locally can bid for the final pair of tickets to his show on Ebay.

The Georgian Theatre Royal, in Richmond, is offering the two box seats to bidders on Ebay for An Evening With Alan Bennett on Friday, April 9.

The seats for the show would normally go for £25 each and the theatre hopes to raise more than that to boost its coffers.

Vaughn Curtis, theatre manager and chief executive, said: "A pair of box seats are to be auctioned on Ebay for anyone keen to grab the rare chance to hear Alan talk about his career and his latest play, The Habit of Art.

"All proceeds from the sale of the pair of box seats will directly support the fundraising evening."

Anyone wanting to bid for the tickets should visit www.ebay.co.uk and then search for item number 110508700953.
