A SCHOOL volleyball team is flying high after qualifying for the final of the girls’ Under 15 National Cup.
The North Riding Eagles from Stokesley School have already played in the last eight of the girls’ Under 16 National Cup, which was held in Kettering. Teacher and coach Anthony Laffan said: "I am delighted with the team’s performance and I know they have a tough final because the team is playing up an age group - most of the girls in the Stokesley team are only 13."
While the achievement bodes well for the team’s future it also means the girls have to put in a lot of extra training so they can compete against the older girls.
They reached the final after qualifying from the northern section of the competition and received their medals in Warrington, where the qualifying rounds were held. The finals will be held in Birmingham on March 21.
