Hospital fundraisers to mark 54 years of hard work
THE Friends of Durham Hospital
will mark 54 years of supporting
medics and patients in
the city at their annual meeting
later this month.
The group - which has branches
in Durham, Langley Park and
Sacriston - supports the University
Hospital of North Durham
and the Bowes Lyon day unit.
It has about 50 members and
Valerie Richardson has served as
chairman for 22 years.
The guest speaker at the meeting
will be Wynne Griffiths,
chairman of St Cuthbert's Hospice.
The meeting will be held in
the Ferns dining room, Earls
House Hospital, Durham, on
Thursday, May 22, from 7pm.
