North County Durham & Tyneside
Thoroughly promising show
AN amateur dramatic group in
north Durham is preparing for
its latest show.
CBS Players is rehearsing for
its production of Thoroughly
Modern Millie.
The 1967 film version of the
Broadway musical starred Julie
Andrews and was nominated
for seven Academy Awards and
five Golden Globes.
This version has Consett's
Sarah Barnes as the lead, and
the show will be performed at
the town's Empire Theatre next
month.
CBS chairman Alan Graham
said: "This must-see show is
going to be spectacular. The
costumes, music and
choreography are fantastic.
The show runs from June 16
to 21 and starts at 7.15pm each
evening.
Tickets are available at the
Empire Theatre, priced £8.50
and £7.50 for concessions, or
call 01207-218171.
