A FIRE has delayed the start of the new term for pupils at a County Durham primary school.
Children were due to start back at St Francis Church of England Junior School on Scholars Path, Newton Aycliffe, tomorrow but this has been postponed until further notice.
The fire is believed to have started in the kitchen area, causing damage to two classrooms.
Parents were informed of the delay by text message this morning and the school has pledged to provide regular updates.
