A HAIRDRESSER was assaulted and robbed by a customer whose hair she had just cut.
The woman needed hospital treatment after she was grabbed and punched in the face.
The suspect dragged her to the floor before stealing the contents of the till.
The customer had waited until Dawn's Hairdressers, in Linthorpe Road, Middlesbrough, was empty before the attack on Friday afternoon.
Detective Constable Mark Coverdale said: "I would like people to have a think. Do you know anyone who had their head shaved on Friday - even if this is a regular occurrence for them?
"This was a nasty attack on a lady who should have been safe in her workplace. It has left her extremely shaken and we need to catch whoever is responsible for this."
The suspect was white, of average build and 5ft 6in to 5ft 9in. He had a cross tattoo on his ear and a cross earring with a diamond, a large pock mark scab on his right cheek and a smaller pock mark scab under his left cheek. He also had a scab on his bottom lip.
The man had short dark hair before having it shaved.
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800-555-111.
