A GUNMAN who shot at a house with a family inside is still at large.
It’s a thought a mother and an eight-year-old girl and baby boy were inside the semi-detached home on Briggs Avenue, South Bank, Middlesbrough, when the shots were fired at about 8.45pm on Saturday.
Police said yesterday they believed the firearm used was a shotgun and that it was a “targeted attack.”
Officers also said the family were shaken up by the incident and house-to-house enquiries were being made.
No-one was hurt in the shooting although gun shots could be seen in the door. The police helicopter and armed response unit were deployed in the immediate aftermath of the attack.
Detective Inspector Paul Gordon from Redcar and Cleveland CID said: "We believe that the firearm used in the incident was a shot gun. We also believe that the incident was a targeted attack and would again appeal for anyone with information regarding the incident or any knowledge on the whereabouts of this firearm to come forward and speak to us.”
Anyone with information can contact Redcar and Cleveland CID on the non-emergency 101 number or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
