A SCOTTISH rock star who is now just as well known in the world of folk music stops off in Durham City next month.
Familiar to thousands of music fans as the front man of indie-rockers Idlewild, Roddy Woomble is also a celebrated solo songwriter and performer, winning rave reviews across both the rock and folk press.
Roddy will visit the Gala Theatre, Durham on Tuesday March6, with a show that includes songs from his third solo album The Impossible Song & Other Songs.

A co-founder of Idlewild, Roddy was also a key instigator behind the acclaimed album Ballads of the Book, which brought together leading Scottish poets and musicians to collaborate on new songs.
He has duetted with Kate Rusby, written for the Sunday Herald and spoken at book festivals around the country.
Tickets for his performance in Durham, which starts at 7.30pm, are priced at £14 or £12 for concessions.
