Band's acoustic Gala date

HUE and Cry emerged on the scene in the late 1980s and specialised in that brand of articulate pop typical of Scottish bands.

The Kane brothers, Pat and Greg, have explored soul influences throughout the career.

Probably best known for their singles Violently and Looking for Linda, Hue and Cry have a new album, Hot Wire, and the Kanes are touring as an acoustic duo. That tour, ahead of a series of band engagements at various festivals, will bring them to Durham’s Gala Theatre on Saturday May 5.

They will be playing songs from their albums Seduced and Abandoned and Remote from the late 1980s.

The gig starts at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £19.50 and are availabkle from the box office on 0191-332 4041 or www.galadurham.co.uk
